The perfect fall day 🍁🌲

It's November! 🍁😍

I love the rain! And the leaves. And baking yummy things. And I love days we don't even have to leave the house. Today was an unexpected #stayhome day and I'm excited to chronicle these memories and share some fun recipes!

This morning we started off with Josh Snodgrass guitar hymns on YouTube while we slowly made coffee, tea and pumpkin bread 😍

This first load was devoured in less than 10 minutes because #teenagers πŸ€ͺ
The second loaf went to our sweet neighbors and the third will most like be gone after breakfast tomorrow. Baking takes time and its gone so fast but I love that my creations are nourishing my kiddos bellies and hearts! πŸ’•

Oh, I also forgot about this part πŸ™ˆ As I was adding the wet ingredients to the dry, I dropped the bowl and made a huge mess. Part of the deal, I guess!

I offered my suggestion for a rainy walk at which my youngest rejoiced and my older groaned. But what's funny is that as soon as we started down the road there was a lightness in their steps and more joy in their hearts. Nature is medicine, no matter the weather!

(yes, my son is riding a bicycle with an umbrella, an upside-down one at that 🀷🏼‍♀️)

For school we discussed what tithing was, finished up some assignments for our Monday co-op, and watched a few videos on the Great Depression, discussing how it started, how people endured and how it ended. The older I get the more aware of how much I don't know. I'm grateful for my children's questions because we can learn together #unschooling ❤

Lastly, as I sit here in my dark living room at 7:30 pm, there is an entire pumpkin in my oven.
COOL, RIGHT!? I saw one of those random reel YouTube videos on accident and this lady was scooping chowder OUT OF A PUMPKIN so of course I scoured the internet looking for a recipe and found this gem. https://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/soup-in-a-pumpkin/#wprm-recipe-container-20212

My mother in law had a few pumpkins on her porch so I begged one off of her and stuffed it with amazing-ness!
Fingers crossed 🀞
1.5 hours later...
YES. Every good and perfect gift is from above! It smells divine and tastes rich and yummy. Scrape off some of that roasted pumpkin into your bowl as you scoop! What a fun recipe. Maybe I should have company next time 🀣

As I wind down this evening I'm just so overwhelmed with the grace of God on my life, the love of my family and that He's got the whole world in His hands πŸ™Œ
