Radical Repentance

You really can just decide to quit. August 9, 2017 was my first fully sober day in many years. It's something I never thought I could do. To go an ENTIRE day without alcohol? I knew other people could do it. It seemed logical and even attainable. In the mornings I'd envision my day, going about my duties as a mom, wife, ran a business, etc, no reason to drink! None. Today was the day. I was going to prove to myself that today, I could do it. I worked out, went for my walks, read my Bible, cleaned house.  The mind is a powerful thing. Henry Ford famously said, "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are right." My resolve throughout the day was high. But in the early afternoon, when will-power and motivation start to dwindle, the little voice in my head would begin to whisper.
